What Is a Talent Sourcer?

No matter the career field, when companies need to hire employees, the first challenge is finding the right candidates to interview. As a talent sourcer, it’s your job to create a sourcing strategy that outlines the process of finding, hiring, and retaining talented employees. Other duties include reaching out to candidates through phone, email, and social media, and generating interest in career opportunities. As a talent sourcer, you engage with workers to ensure that their skills meet the ideal qualifications for the job, so that a recruiter can proceed with interviewing and onboarding.

How does a Talent Sourcer typically collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers during the recruitment process?

Talent Sourcers work closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand the specific requirements of open positions and develop targeted sourcing strategies. They are responsible for proactively identifying and engaging potential candidates, often providing a shortlist of qualified leads for recruiters to contact. Regular communication and feedback are essential, as Sourcers refine their search criteria based on hiring manager input and market trends, ensuring the recruitment pipeline remains strong and aligned with business needs.
