Summary/Objective
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for expanding ReEmployAbility's national footprint by securing new business with high value Employers, Carriers, TPAs, Brokers, SIGs, Captive Groups, and additional industry influencers. This role is heavily focused on building strategic relationships at the C-suite and executive level, uncovering new market opportunities, and driving long-term revenue growth.
Operating as a senior external-facing representative, the VP of Business Development will leverage deep Workers' Compensation industry knowledge and a well-established executive network to identify, cultivate, and close enterprise-level partnerships. This position requires exceptional communication, high executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex decision structures to win new business and expand ReEmployAbility's market share.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as a high-level brand ambassador for ReEmployAbility, positioning the organization as the premier partner for return-to-work solutions.
  • Strategically pursue enterprise and national-level prospects, focusing heavily on executive and C suite relationship development.
  • Lead all stages of the business development lifecycle-including prospecting, qualification, executive presentations, solution positioning, and closing.
  • Develop high-impact sales strategies tailored to Employers, Carriers, TPAs, SIGs, Captive Groups, and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Engage in regular executive-level discussions to understand organizational objectives, decision-making dynamics, and barriers to adoption.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships that result in new revenue, contract expansions, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Present complex industry solutions in clear, compelling messaging to senior decision-makers.
  • Represent ReEmployAbility at national conferences, industry events, and executive briefings to grow visibility and cultivate new business channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams-including Account Management, Marketing, and Senior Leadership-to support proposals, contract negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain active and accurate records within CRM systems and provide detailed forecasting and pipeline reporting.

Requirements
  • Outstanding executive communication, with the ability to influence C-suite leaders and navigate complex buying groups.
  • Proven success building relationships across diverse perspectives within the Workers' Compensation and insurance ecosystem.
  • Deep understanding of sales strategies, enterprise acquisition, and consultative solution selling.
  • Ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, and develop strategic approaches for high-value prospects.
  • Strong professionalism, ethics, and executive presence.
  • Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and driven to achieve measurable results.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal leadership and operational teams.
  • Strong CRM proficiency (Salesforce or similar) and Microsoft Office suite skills.

Required Education and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in the Workers' Compensation industry.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful sales or business development experience, preferably at an enterprise or executive level.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
  • Prior experience selling to Employers, Carriers, TPAs, Captives, SIGs, or risk management organizations.
  • Established network of senior-level industry contacts.

Other Requirements
  • Travel up to 75% for executive meetings, conferences, and onsite presentations.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and use hands for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.

Travel is required up 75 % of the time for onsite client visits, tradeshows, and conferences. Individual is required to sit for an extended period of time, stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May also occasionally need to lift or move 0-15 pounds. Specific vision skills for computer usage and written document reading.
