Position Summary

The Door Shop Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the door shop operation. This individual will oversee production, scheduling, inventory management, quality control, safety, and personnel while ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and delivered on time.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing door manufacturing, assembly, pre-hanging operations, millwork production, or a similar building products environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily operations of the door shop, including production, assembly, pre-hanging, finishing, and distribution activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production personnel to maximize productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Establish production schedules and workflows to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor labor efficiency, material usage, and operational costs to achieve performance goals.
  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with sales, purchasing, warehouse, and delivery teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of doors, jambs, hardware, and related components.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning.
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
  • Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience in a door shop, millwork facility, manufacturing environment, or building materials operation.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial doors, hardware, pre-hanging processes, and millwork products preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational performance.
  • Experience with production scheduling, inventory control, and quality management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, production software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Experience

  • Door manufacturing or pre-hung door production.
