Job description

What You Will Do:
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Manager will lead and oversee the Supplier Quality Engineering function within an AS9100D certified aerospace organization, ensuring that all supplier processes, materials, and products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance.
This role is critical to establishing and maintaining robust supplier partnerships, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the seamless integration of supplier components into aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Supplier Quality Leadership:
    Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, managing activities across multiple suppliers to ensure compliance with AS9100D, FAA, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Supplier Qualification & Audits:
    Conduct and oversee supplier assessments, audits, and qualification activities to ensure alignment with organizational quality expectations, regulatory standards, and aerospace industry best practices.
  • Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:
    Lead root cause analysis, problem resolution, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related quality issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Develop and implement supplier performance metrics, KPIs, and improvement plans to enhance reliability, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance while reducing non-conformance rates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with design, manufacturing, procurement, and program management teams to identify risks, mitigate supplier quality issues, and support successful program deliveries.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Ensure supplier documentation, inspection records, and quality reports meet AS9100D, internal policies, and customer requirements.
  • Training & Development:
    Mentor and develop a high-performing Supplier Quality Engineering team, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related technical field; Master's preferred.
  • Experienced in supplier quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100D and aerospace quality standards.
  • Proven experience with supplier audits, supplier development, risk management, and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and ERP software.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Supplier Quality Professional (SQP).
  • Experience in complex aerospace programs or high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments.

Salary Range:
Please note the typical hiring range is $149,000 - $201,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
