POSITION SUMMARYThe Billing Support Clerk supports the mission of CHS by providing critical billing and administrative support to the
Service Coordination department. This position is responsible for tracking Medicaid eligibility, supporting Targeted Case
Management billing processes and conducting quality assurance reviews. The role also assists with audits and
reimbursement activities. Through strong attention to detail, accuracy, and effective coordination, the Billing Support
Clerk helps ensure regulatory compliance, timely reimbursement, and the delivery of high-quality services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improves Targeted Case Management (TCM) billing accuracy and reimbursement by analyzing claim confirmation reports, identifying causes of billing rejections, implementing corrective actions, and preparing and submitting TCM invoices to meet spenddown requirements.
  • Maintains effective coordination around Medicaid eligibility changes by proactively communicating updates with Service Coordinators (SCs), CHS Accounting, and DMH-DD Regional Offices to ensure timely corrections and accurate TCM billing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reimbursement by conducting weekly reviews of pre-billing reports, resolving billing denials, and addressing Medicaid-related issues including incorrect codes, spenddown requirements, and lapses in coverage.
  • Maintain Medicaid eligibility accuracy for individuals served by systematically tracking and reporting status changes, including spenddown obligations, reinvestigation follow-up, application progress, and determinations of ineligibility.
  • Protect billing accuracy and compliance by monitoring and documenting changes in individual status, including admissions to or discharges from nursing homes, residential care facilities, and hospitals, as well as deaths, and promptly updating records to reflect these changes.
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance for the case management program by conducting regular audits and monitoring activities, minimizing risk, and maintaining continuous state and federal program approval.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma, GED or Hi Set Degree and twoย years of related work experience OR associate's degree (AA or AAS) in related field plus one year of related work OR any combination of education and experience to equal threeย years.
