As a middle school history teacher, your job is to provide education to your students and explain various aspects of history, often focusing on specific states and events as you build on their previous learning. While fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of this role, you may also participate in professional development courses, provide personalized help to each student that needs in, and participate in various school activities as requested. Middle school history teachers often meet with parents, help manage IEPs, oversee clubs, run activities, chaperone students during field trips, and otherwise support efforts to give all students a comprehensive education. To teach in a public school, you need a bachelor’s degree and your teaching certification.
