JOB SUMMARY:
The Inbound Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the Inbound (US Import) channel for DHLeC US, with a strong focus on profitability. This role involves executing sales strategies, managing key customer relationships, and negotiating pricing and contract structures to ensure sustainable and profitable business growth. The Inbound Sales Manager must understand the impact of rates on profit margins, to make informed decisions that align with corporate objectives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this role ensures smooth operations, enhances DHL's market position for inbound volumes, and balances competitive pricing with long-term profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management:

  • Drive revenue growth for the Inbound (US Import) channel of DHLeC US, with a strong focus on profitability.
  • Support the development and execution of pricing strategies that maximize long-term profitability while adhering to corporate guidelines.

Account Strategy:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and profitability by targeting multiple inbound prospects.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned geographic territory to drive profitable growth.
  • Expand and manage key account relationships by developing solutions that align with customer cost and service objectives while maintaining profitability.
  • Conduct presentations and facility tours to demonstrate DHL eCommerce's capabilities and value propositions.
  • Prepare and present QBR to active accounts.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with cross-business units, third-party vendors, and international partners to support inbound sales initiatives.

Market Research and Development:

  • Conduct research and market analysis to identify profitable growth opportunities within the inbound sector.
  • Support business development initiatives, partnerships, and competitive analysis to strengthen DHL's position in the US Inbound market.

Contract and Pricing Management:

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing structures with a clear understanding of profitability impact.
  • Propose pricing strategies to balance profitability and growth.
  • Collaborate with pricing teams to ensure strategies align with corporate profitability goals and market conditions.

Performance & Reporting

  • Maintain records and reporting requirements while achieving and exceeding profitability and performance standards.
  • Monitor sales performance, revenue growth, and profit margins to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Customer Experience:

  • Collaborate with the Implementations team to support seamless customer onboarding.
  • Manage customer relationships, address concerns, and develop tailored operational solutions to enhance satisfaction and retention while ensuring profitability.
  • Monitor customer profiles, revenue contribution, and profitability to drive sustainable business growth.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Manage inbound volume from international markets, working with resellers, direct merchants, marketplaces, and DHL business units.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Solutions Engineers, Client Relationship Managers, and Implementation Managers, to support inbound sales efforts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Inbound Sales Director to help refine and execute strategic initiatives with a focus on profitability.
  • Continuously develop sales skills, negotiation tactics, and financial acumen through training and joint selling opportunities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing preferred or related work experience.
  • 7 years related sales experience calling on accounts.
  • Parcel, ecommerce, and logistics experience required.
  • Experience with sales activity reporting software preferred.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability in creating new business and client relationships.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and presentation abilities.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires low physical activity; ability to stand and/or walk for an extended period.
  • Travel required as needed, up to 30%.
  • Able to work a range of shifts based on operational needs, after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
