Job Type: Full-Time | Various Shifts

Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Elizabethton Youth Academy in Elizabethton, Tennessee, is a 16-bed residential treatment center for girls ages 12 to 17. Our program focuses on mental health treatment, education, and creative therapies including art, music, and recreation. Using a trauma-informed approach, we provide youth with individualized care to help them achieve long-term success in life, education, and emotional wellness.
Position Summary - Facility Maintenance Worker Job in Elizabethton, TN
We are hiring a Facility Maintenance Worker to support the daily operations of Elizabethton Youth Academy. Facility Maintenance Worker Responsibilities
  • Manage building services including maintenance, groundskeeping, parking areas, and facility safety
  • Conduct regular building inspections and take proactive steps to ensure a safe, efficient, and presentable environment
  • Oversee safety and security measures, including fire, burglary, and facility closures
  • Monitor and maintain close circuit security systems and access card operations
  • Support program managers by identifying and coordinating maintenance projects and repairs
  • Track and maintain facility fire and health inspections and ensure timely resolution of deficiencies
  • Direct contractor activities related to facility maintenance, equipment, and grounds

Other Duties Include
  • Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth
  • Participate in training and development activities as required
  • Report any acts, incidents, or conditions reflecting inappropriate behavior
  • Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

Preferred Experience
  • 3+ years' experience in facility maintenance or related roles
  • Prior project management experience strongly preferred

Other Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds. Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. Ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Other: Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license. Must meet company auto insurance requirements. Must meet state criminal background check and pre-employment screening requirements.
