Job Description Looking to jump into a new opportunity. Use your knowledge of group exercise to help our customers enjoy a great workout and achieve their wellness goals. The City of Kettering Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting to fill temporary part-time Group Exercise Instructor positions.

The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for preparing and instructing exercise classes. Compensation: Pay range is $20.10 to $25.05 per hour. Entry rate is contingent upon candidate's related skills knowledge and abilities

Examples of Duties Prepares a class period of one hour in length; this hour should contain exercises for all parts of the body; Must include a stretching warm-up, a general warm-up, toning, aerobics and cool-down in each lesson; Handles concerns of the public in regard to the effect of exercise on the body; Keeps up to date on music; Reads and stays informed on latest exercise programs and fads; Attends workshops, meetings and other exercise classes; Keeps the public's welfare in mind at all times; Maintains and submits all required paperwork for classes; Responsible for being aware of and enforcing all Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts guidelines; Regular and predictable on-site attendance required; Performs other related duties as required. Typical Qualifications Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people of all ages in regards to physical fitness. Must have a basic knowledge of body (muscles, bones, etc.).Must be able to work effectively with and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with employees, City officials, and patrons

Must have a current nationally recognized fitness certification in Group Exercise. Previous experience as a fitness instructor is preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Equal Opportunity Employer.
