About the Opportunity

Selekktus has partnered with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in aviation fuel systems, flexible liquid storage solutions, and mission-critical aerospace components supporting military, commercial, rotorcraft, and fixed-wing aircraft programs worldwide.

Our client is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives across aerospace, defense, OEM, and aftermarket markets throughout the United States. This individual will play a critical role in expanding market presence, developing key customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities that support the organization's continued growth.


The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, the Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, and developing long-term customer relationships across aerospace and defense sectors.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong combination of business development expertise, customer engagement, market intelligence, and commercial execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and executive leadership teams to support both existing programs and new business opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth across aerospace, defense, OEM, and aftermarket markets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with OEMs, military organizations, operators, distributors, and strategic partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
  • Lead customer engagement activities, presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions
  • Support RFQs, proposals, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful execution of customer programs and business initiatives
  • Manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline and forecast future business opportunities
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and conferences
  • Travel throughout the United States and occasionally internationally as required


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field
  • 8+ years of business development, sales, account management, or commercial leadership experience within aerospace, defense, aviation, or manufacturing industries
  • Proven track record of generating revenue growth and securing new business opportunities
  • Experience working with OEMs, military customers, government agencies, MRO organizations, or aerospace operators
  • Strong understanding of aerospace and defense markets
  • Experience supporting proposals, RFQs, contract negotiations, and customer programs
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
