Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Engineering Manager to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee various construction engineering projects, ensuring their successful execution from inception to completion.

  • Manage and coordinate multiple construction engineering projects, overseeing budgets, schedules, and resources

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and local building codes

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

  • Interpret and execute complex technical assignments, often requiring multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge

  • Develop novel concepts and approaches to address unique or challenging construction problems

  • Maintain effective communication with internal departments, clients, and external stakeholders

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions

  • Analyze project data and prepare comprehensive reports for upper management and clients

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in construction engineering

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local and federal regulations throughout project lifecycles

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:  

  • BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • 10 years of relevant experience in construction engineering, with a proven track record of successful project management

  • Prior experience working with ADOT or State DOT clients 

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and safety regulations

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams

  • Proficiency in construction management software and CAD programs

  • Solid understanding of project financials, including budgeting and cost control

  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders

  • Experience with local Department of Transportation projects is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with roadway construction is a plus

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
