CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client in their search for a Assistant Accountant.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Accountant to serve as the primary and sole accounting professional on-site, responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This hands-on role requires a highly self-sufficient and detail-oriented individual who can operate independently while maintaining strong communication with a remote Finance manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Assist with the month-end close process, contributing to timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and maintain trial balances
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Monitor and record daily financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory-related transactions
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions accurately and timely
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies

Qualifications

Required

  • 1-3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience as a sole accountant, full-charge bookkeeper, or in a small-team environment
  • Experience with intercompany accounting
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based environment
  • Experience with Netsuite
