Custom Truck One Source "CTOS" 5105 Pelham Drive, Sedalia, Missouri, 65301

CTOS - Load King has been producing first-class trailers and heavy equipment since 1956. At our Sedalia facility, we manufacture Load King trailers, Dump trucks, Roofing conveyors, Voyager Series mechanics bodies, Steel flatbeds & more.

Position Summary

The Welder/Fabricator performs daily metal fabrication and structural welding, primarily on steel components. This role includes material preparation, welding, finishing, and quality inspection.

  • ?? Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • ?? Welding: MIG (.035), flux core (.045), TIG, push-pull on aluminum (.035)
  • ?? Materials: 14 gauge to 1", 3/16" to 1⁄2" thickness
  • ?? Equipment: 280-350-amp machines, some truck frame welding
  • ?? Benefits: Pay based on experience, 401k match, healthcare, paid vacation/holidays/sick time, uniforms, safety gear and more.

The ideal candidate:

  • Can read and interpret detailed blueprints and design prints
  • Has strong structural welding experience
  • Works well independently and in team environments
  • Maintains a strong work ethic and safety mindset
  • Is comfortable working in a steel fabrication shop environment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with plant manager, shop supervisor, drafters, customers, and team members
  • Perform structural welding using modern welding techniques
  • Select proper wire and filler materials for various steel alloys and aluminum
  • Conduct finish grinding using manual and power tools
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication challenges
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship with minimal supervision
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices
  • Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities

Working Conditions

  • Shop environment with overhead heaters; temperatures vary with outdoor conditions
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibration
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
  • Regular, reliable attendance is essential

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing and walking
  • Frequent use of hands and arms
  • Occasional squatting, bending, twisting, and prone positioning
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting to 75 lbs.
  • Close, distance, and color vision required
